The House is particularly thoughtful about the experiences and legacy needs of Black women and women of the diaspora. Shared values bring us together across identities: friendship with depth, belonging with standards, and generosity that reaches beyond ourselves.
Founded by Mariah Dixon after relocation changed her sense of community, the House began with a simple act of courage: making the first invitation.

A FEW THINGS YOU MAY BE WONDERING

A member referral is one path into the House. You are also welcome to request a key and introduce yourself directly. Membership is extended by invitation after thoughtful review.
Event invitations welcome you to a particular gathering, subject to available places. Membership invitations are personal keys to consider becoming an Ivy or a Founding Member. Attending an event does not enroll you as a member.
The House is rooted here, and our founding relationships reach across distance. Invitations specify whether an experience is in person or virtual, so you can consider what participation would look like for you.
Thoughtful participation, discretion, respect, and care for one another. Giving back through service, mentoring, or philanthropic endeavors is part of the House’s purpose.
An invitation begins with shared values and a willingness to contribute. Any annual dues support the House’s programming, care, and shared experience. Membership information is shared personally and explains dues, what is included, renewal terms, and any separate event costs before you decide whether to accept.
Your request is received with care and brought before the Board of Housekeepers for thoughtful consideration. We approach each introduction with grace, discretion, and the utmost respect for the woman behind it. The House will be in touch personally about next steps.
